Woodingdean Tenants and Residents Association and Local Action Team Meeting

**Ray Harrison **is Woodingdean’s local community police officer. He is controlling the crime in Woodingdean and we have put together some information about what his priorities are to tackle crime in Woodingdean, and what has been going on in regards to crime over the past few months.

Ray holds Woodingdean’s Local Action Team Meeting, which is part of the Tenants Residents Meeting. The meeting aims to address problems of crime and disorder at a local level and encourages the residents to encourage the residents to help solve the problems.

The next Local Action Team Meeting will be on Wednesday 13 February at 7:30pm at Woodingdean Community Centre and Ray will be available to talk with Woodingdean residents for half an hour before the meeting.

At the meeting on **Wednesday 13 February ** there will be a number of guest speakers, including Katy Bourne (Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner), Gill Rankin (Manager Bupa’s Dean Wood), and Ray Harrison.

Ray’s 3 priorities in Woodingdean are

  1. Youth Disorder – to reduce levels of anti-social behaviour from youths
  2. Traffic Issues – to reduce the number of vehicles speeding through Woodingdean. This is being largely helped by the volunteer speedwatch group.
  3. Criminal Damage – to reduce the amount of Graffitti around Woodingdean.

Overall, crime in 2012 was down by almost 20% than in the last few years.

During January, Ray intends to be accompanying Housing Managers to visit and inspect some of their houses in Woodingdean.
