Woodingdean Primary School signs up to The Martlets Mobile Phone Recycling Scheme
The Martlets Hospice have a Mobile Phone Recycling Scheme in each of the Martlets charity shops, and from 2013, the scheme is being introduced in local schools and business.
16 local primary schools have signed up to the scheme – Woodingdean Primary School included – that passes on the old phones to developing countries that have no telephone landline infrastructures.
The scheme saves space in UK landfill sites by those in the developing countries reusing the mobile phones and will be used as a topic for school sustainability programmes.
The following schools have recently signed up to the programme:
Benfield Primary School
Bevendean Primary School
Elm Grove Primary School
Middle Street Primary School
