The Martlet’s Men’s Noon Walk
On Sunday 13 October, the men of Brighton will be taking part in a 13 mile sponsored walk, raising money for the Martlets.
The walk is in its fifth year and is open to men and boys aged 12 or over. This year there will be a shorter route on offer so that everyone, no matter their fitness level, can get involved.
The Marlet’s Men’s Noon Walk follows the success of this year’s Midnight walk. The women of Brighton & Hove raised almost £100,000 for the Hospice and it’s time to see if the men of Brighton can compete!
The walk will begin at the County Cricket Ground in Hove - it will follow the coast to Saltdean Lido and back again, the shorter route taking you up to the pier and back again. Dogs are also welcome.
Last year Chief Inspector, Simon Nelson completed the walk with his two sons. He said, "Having recovered from cancer, I am one of the lucky ones but I knew of The Martlets and the dignity and support I could have found with them if I had needed it. I had a great Dad's day out with my boys during the walk, when we had time to talk about all sorts of things while raising money for such an essential service. It was a real challenge for them and they enjoyed a real sense of achievement that will always stay with all three of us."
