Dementia Support Day at The Martlets Hospice
The Martlets Hospice, Hove are holding a support day for those living with dementia in aid of Carers Week that takes place between 10 and 16 June.
On Monday 10 June the Martlets are opening their doors for anyone who has dementia or cares for anyone with dementia. The day is being held at The Martlets Hospice in Hove and is being supported by the Martlets themselves, Age UK and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Each of these organisations will be holding short talks about their services and those who pop along will also be able to enjoy art and crafts, relaxation, and a performance from local singer Lou Beckerman.
The event is free to attend, but the Martlets ask that you call to book your place. If you would like to book, please call Judith on 01273 829940. Lunch will be provided, and there will be tea and cake in the afternoon. The Martlets will also help with transport, please ask Judith about this service when you call her to book a place.
Jackie Windsor, event organiser from the Martlets said
“Most of us will have some experience of dementia. We either know someone who cares for someone with dementia, know someone with dementia, or we are that person ourselves. At the Martlets we’re looking at ways that we can help people with dementia and the people who care for them. This event is free and people can pop in for an hour or come for the day. There will be specialist speakers, singing, crafts and plenty of company.”
